Message From Our Chairperson, Dimitri
Miaoulis
I am looking forward to the opportunity of leading
the Paramus Chamber for this upcoming two-year term.
My predecessor, Teri Duda, has set the foundation from
which we can build. We have a strong board in place
of very energetic professionals. Membership is at an
all time high and continues to rise. Programs have
been implemented that create stronger ties to the community
and government. The office has an updated infrastructure.
Finally, we have the consummate professional, in Fred
Rohdieck, as our President in charge of operations.
For the upcoming year our primary focus will be on
increasing the value of being a chamber member.
This
will be achieved by.
- Increasing the marketing opportunities to promote
the memberships businesses
- Increase the resources to help the members grow
their businesses.
- Continue to build the relationships with the Inter
Chamber Consortium.
The Chamber will be promoting our members through
cooperative advertising direct mail vehicles such as
Super Coups. Sending out 10,000 mailers at a time to
get the public to think about the chamber members and
bring them to the chamber website where members have
banner ads that link back to the member’s website.
The Chamber website also has an on line directory of
the members. The internet has become the preferred
method of research prior to shopping for products and
services and making the public more aware of the site
will help the members. In addition to the direct mail
we will be advertising the Chamber and the members
in the local newspapers. The primary focus is to make
the public aware of the Chamber web site, the directory
and the banner ads on the site.
The Chamber members will also have access to resources
such as Public Relations kits, Direct Mail strategies,
Credit Card strategies, loan strategies and more. The
resources will be local and practical information to
help the members run their businesses. All this information
will be available from the website with a user name
and password from members.
There’s strength in numbers and we have plans
to further develop the relationships with the Inter
Chamber Consortium. Our long term goal is to gain cooperation
with health insurance providers for better rates and
to also have the ability for larger events and a stronger
voice in the community. A strong business environment
creates a strong community and everyone wins.
Paramus has become the business hub of Bergen County
and we’re proud that the Greater Paramus Chamber
of Commerce is at the center.
